Guru Purnima 2022

The festival of Guru Purnima was celebrated on July 16th, 2022 at Amrita International Vidyalayam. Guru Purnima is a day commemorated to make students aware about our rich cultural heritage of “Guru Shishya Parampara.” It was celebrated to make the students understand and realize the importance of Guru in their lives.

The chief guest of the event was Brahmachari Dr. Gopal Udupa, HOD Mechanical Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri.

The programme started with prayer followed by Amma’s Pada Puja by Brahmachari Nishkamamrita Chaitanya, Director of Amrita International Vidyalayam. The Principal, Dr. Seethhalakhshmi Viswanath, in her speech highlighted the nature of Guru and the importance of Guru in everyone’s life. PYP Coordinator Ms. Sreeja Nair focused on the role of parents as Gurus in everyone’s life. A small speech was given by the chief guest, who stressed on Guru Purnima rituals for internal transformation. It was then followed by various performances by the students, showing the significance of Guru and Guru Purnima.

Padapuja was the main event of the celebration. Pada puja is a ritual to express our thanks to our revered teacher. Students offered Pada puja to their parents, who are the first Gurus in their life. The program concluded with a closing prayer and Prasadam was distributed among all. All the students, teachers, non-teaching staff of the school and the parents took part in the celebration with great enthusiasm.
