To teach, one needs to have a thorough understanding of the subject matter.
And to gain an understanding of the subject matter, one must be willing
to learn and to discover the student within. These words are so true of

education that we need for life, and for living. We are now living at a time
when a student does not need a teacher to get knowledge; but a teacher is
needed to give a student the right skill, the right attitude, the right
understanding of concepts in a subject and, of life and the readiness
to face and accept what life offers.
‘Language, dress, home, food, customs, manners and ine and
performing arts are the elements that constitute the culture of a
given group of people.’ said Swami Dayananda Saraswati. To imbibe
feelings for one’s nation, it is indeed, necessary to have a
thorough understanding of the culture in which one grew and the
various people who have contributed to this knowledge level at which
       we ind ourselves today.
Thus, the scope of education today is, in addition to giving facts
and concepts related to a topic, building on the skills, attitudes
and cultural understanding of every student. ICSE in this regard
gives a strong emphasis on all these aspects and remains a board
which strives towards eminence through traditional methodology
supported by innovative modern techniques. A comprehensive
development pattern is visualised for every child and the Board has
incorporated many of the insights of the new NEP 2021 which is
striving to take education in India to newer dimensions and to
       heights still not experienced.

Amrita International Vidyalayam, Bengaluru, true to its vision and
mission, is happy to follow the guidelines issued by the ICSE for
effective development of skills, attitudes and concept‐based,
activity‐oriented education with an emphatic focus on culture‐
       oriented value‐based education.
